JUMP – but don’t fear the fall!

People like safety. I mean why wouldn’t we? Sitting nice and pretty on a shelf somewhere gives you stability. And protection. And maybe, maybe even a little assurance that you’ll live your days unscathed. But even so, some people still jump off that ledge—– some people make those big leaps without worrying about the fall.  So what about those people — what gives them the strength, the courage, the nerve to dust themselves off and go … to throw caution to the wind and tell the safety police to take a hike …

Somewhere out there, there exists a happy medium (I suppose), but even that can be a dangerous place to land — cause no one wants to live their entire life in the safety zone – right?

“Never let your fear of the unknown and things being too difficult make your choices for you in life. One of the saddest lessons in life is finding out that your fear made the situation worse than what it was and a braver person stole the dream you gave up on.” ~ Shannon Alder

And remember, the answer is always no, if you don’t ask.

Today’s post inspired by The Daily Prompt: Leap “Write a new post in response to today’s one-word prompt.” Oh, and for the record me, I’ve always wanted to write for Vogue — there, I said it. Of course I’ve been too chicken to send those pitches so alas, the answer — at least for the time being — is an emphatic no … who knows, maybe one of these days I’ll find the nerve to jump off that damn shelf.
