Sometimes, I Wish I Was a Secret Vigilante

If you If you could do any job and the salary stayed exactly the same, what would you choose? And before you answer too quickly, let’s be honest — some of us have the kind of brains that immediately start negotiating imaginary loopholes.

Like, if you pick Warren Buffett’s job, do you get to keep the interest he earns that day? If you choose to be President, do the laws you sign stick after your 24 hours end? And do you get to remember any of it, or does it vanish like a dream you swear was important but can’t recall?

Now, if you’re the type who answers questions before thinking them through, you’ve probably already picked your job and moved on to someone else’s blog. But if you’re still here, let’s take this prompt in a different direction.

What if instead of choosing a job, you could inherit one physical attribute — someone’s smooth skin, long eyelashes, shiny hair — or better yet, one superhero power. What would you choose?

Me? I’m torn. Seeing through walls would be a cool party trick, but it would get old fast. Flying sounds fun, but I don’t even like flying in planes, so why would I want to do it solo? Casting spells would be amazing, but that’s more witchcraft than superpower.

I know for sure I wouldn’t want to read minds. Why on earth would I want access to the darkest corners of humanity — serial killers, abusive parents, people who harm others in the name of honor or ego? No thank you. I have a hard enough time understanding myself on a good day.

“The most courageous thing a person can do is learn to understand that which they fight against.” And honestly, I’m not that courageous.

But here’s what I would choose: I’d be a secret vigilante. Not forever — just one day. One glorious, consequence‑free day to rid the world of as much malevolence as possible.

And yes, I’d do it for free. Especially if I got to wear a shiny costume.

So Batman, if you’re reading this and need a new sidekick, count me in. I’ll take a size medium cape. And if it could be green to match my eyes, that would be ideal.

If this spoke to you, be sure to “like” and share it over social with someone who’d appreciate the flavor …
