Twenty years ago, I sat down to a nice Italian restaurant where everyone looks like they’re having the evening they’re supposed to be having. And I spent the entire night negotiating with my monsters.
This episode is about that dinner. And about the hardest part of recovery nobody warns you about — it’s not stopping the behavior. It’s figuring out who you are when the behavior is gone. And it’s about learning not to fake it for the sake looking like you have it all together. This isn’t a blueprint for recovery. It’s an honest look at what recovery actually costs — and what real strength looks like when the monsters are still somewhere in the room.
