Ever Wonder What’s Under a Man’s Kilt?

Not really sure what got me thinking about this today (well, fine, maybe I do know but I’m not sharing) … anyhoo, I find myself wondering what men wear under kilts. I mean have you ever wondered? Ever been around a man in a kilt and wanted to take a peek, just for curiosity’s sake, of course.

In 2010 the Scottish Tartans Authority (yes, it’s a real thing) decreed that wearing nothing beneath a kilt is “childish and unhygienic.” It was, so I’ve read, a nod to decency and modesty … alas, it seems many took the “advice” to heart as a more recent Scottish dress survey showed that just under 75% of all kilt wearers do, indeed, wear some kind of undergarment. Which, if I’m doing my math correctly … INSERT DRUM ROLL … means nearly one in four go commando. Yea. That’s right. Naked. Totally.

Nearly 25% of those who wear a kilt do so, “full Scotsman” (aka the “full monty”)

My father was born in Glasgow and raised in London. And while I can’t recall him ever wearing a kilt, my uncle did … but I can’t say as I ever once wondered what was (or wasn’t) underneath. I mean ewwwww!! But. Nowadays, when I see pictures of men in kilts, I can’t help but wonder what may or may not be hanging out under there. (LOL, hanging out … get it?) Of course, seeing how it’s a rarity to find a man in the U.S. wearing a kilt, the mystery may go unsolved and my mind might just be left to wonder … of course it’s not such a bad thing to wonder about. Now is it?
